Get to Know Colleen!

I am a full time K-5 elementary art teacher for the Buena Regional School district.  I’m also an artist, face painter, balloon sculptor, and nature lover! I love the town of Hammonton and enjoy being a volunteer member of the different community groups that are available, which include the Hammonton Arts Center, Art Club Hammonton, and Hammonton Heart and Soul.

I discovered yoga about seven years ago when I decided to attend a class at a local studio in Hammonton. I was intrigued by the unique poses! I loved the sense of empowerment after accomplishing a pose that I had been practicing!  During the past few years, yoga has become a lifestyle choice for me, instead of an inconsistent past time. I discovered more and more of what yoga has to offer and cannot imagine my life without it! The tools that I have learned through yoga have allowed me to work towards becoming the best version of myself, inside and out!

I received the opportunity to complete my first yoga teacher training program, and looked forward to learning more about yoga! Initially, I had considered becoming a yoga instructor as a way of deepening my own yoga practice. I also thought it seemed practical since I am already an educator.  However, through my training, I was also able to gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of myself and others. I also discovered how profound of an impact the practice of yoga can have on the mind, body, and soul! I completed my 200 hour yoga teacher certification at the end of April of 2022! I love sharing my experiences and my love of yoga with the community.  I hope to inspire others to continue to pursue and explore their own yoga practice!
